Richmond Hill Boot Camp Instructor Says an IDEA is like a VIRUS

Hello everyone,

Here’s a email I wrote to my boot campers this week that I thought I’d share with my blog readers as well.

Check out!  I’m sure most of you can relate.  I’d love to hear your thoughts:

Good morning everyone!

How was everyone's weekend?  Mine was crazy with not much down time.  I went out with friends for Summerlicious on Friday.  If you haven't been to Toula at the Westin Harbour castle, I highly recommend it.  The food was really good.  I spent the whole day at Canada's wonderland on Saturday... it was exhausting and the worst part about it was that the front sole of one of my favorite pairs of shoes ripped off!  I was holding back tears when that happened!  And yesterday was a family day, as I had cousins visitng from California.

Last night we watched the new Leonardo DiCaprio movie, "Inception".  It was amazing and definitely a must watch. I REALLY enjoyed it (I think more so because the last movie I watched was the Last Air Bender, which was honestly in the top 3 WORST movies I've ever watched in my entire life!!!).

Without giving away too much of the movie, there was one line that stuck in my head, and it went something like this:

"An IDEA is like a VIRUS"

This is so true on so many levels.  For example, exercise.  We've all been there before.  We put the idea in our head that we're going to get into great shape, we're going to lose "x" amount of pounds, we're going to eat healthy, we're look better than ever!!

All of a sudden, we go 2-3 days of eating "not-the-best", we skip 1 or 2 workouts,  we put the idea in our head that "oh, I will just make up for it tomorrow.  One day turns into 2 days, days turns into weeks, weeks into months, and months can easily turn into YEARS.  It happens all the time!

I was once told by one of my coaches that "An IDEA is no more than a thought unless you take massive action"  If you put it in your head that you will get results, you will definitely take action and do something about reaching your goals.

The opposite is true as well.  If you put the IDEA in your head that you will hold off on getting results, you will definitely take "inaction" and do NOTHING about reaching your goals.

So here's the question of the week:

"What IDEAS are you going to act upon this week?"
